Athletics

At Middleburg Academy, athletics is considered to be a vital part of the entire educational experience. We recognize that many of life’s best lessons can be taught and learned on the playing field or the court, as well as in the classroom.

Middleburg Academy is a member of VISAA, the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association. Across three seasons, we offer the following sports: Cross Country, Equestrian, Girls’ Field Hockey, Boys’ Soccer, Girls’ Tennis, and Girls’ Volleyball in the fall; Boys’ Basketball, Girls’ Basketball, Equestrian, Fencing, and Swimming in the winter; and Equestrian, Golf, Boys’ Lacrosse, Girls’ Lacrosse, Girls’ Soccer, and Boys’ Tennis in the spring.

We are very proud of our sporting tradition, and in the past have claimed state championships in Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball, Boys’ Lacrosse, and Girls’ Volleyball.

Middleburg Academy takes exceptional pride in its no cut policy, which allows everyone a chance to choose and participate in a wide range of activities. Middleburg Academy is unique in this manner. It is a great learning experience for everyone when student-athletes who have never played a sport or who may be less talented get to play alongside teammates who will one day be playing at the college level.
